    Description

This is an antique Edwardian or early 1900's black hat with lace over most of it with leaves and a center flower. I am not sure of the black material but it is a heavier one like cotton or something, it isn't silk. It is labeled Philipsborn Extra Quality Millinery Chicago. It is wired formed and is lined in black material. There is band around the crown seen best in the 3rd photo. The flower and leaves are some kind of gauzy sheer material and at the front the flower has a colorful porcelain button or something sewn on like a button with faux pearls around it, seen best in the 6th photo. This is the way I got this hat but I am not sure if the lace should be around the rim as it is or if it was taken down so it hangs like that but it is done very evenly it is hard to say, either way it looks great. It is 22 1/2" in circumference on the inside, 15" side to side and 13" front to back measured from the bottom. The crown is 4 1/2" high. Condition is very good with a small hole on the top seen in the last photo. On the bottom side there are 2 ends of the wire that don't meet seen in the 11th photo where I am holding it up with a pen, they don't seem to do anything but are there. It is a great hat. Please look at the pictures carefully with the mouse and ask questions. Thank you for viewing. U.S. SALES ONLY. There is a .00 handling fee.
