    FRAMED PRINT
This historic drawing of the legendary Oakmont Country Club, site of several U.S. Open Championships, is believed to be the oldest surviving plan of Oakmont.
The map was discovered in 2006 when old plans of Arthur Jack Snyder were being archived. Snyder attended Penn State from 1936 through 1939, teaching a class in golf architecture during his senior year. The origin of the drawing is believed to be Snyder’s senior class assignment in 1939. The Snyders had a long history with Oakmont beginning in 1907 when Snyder’s father caddied for W. C. Fownes, son of Oakmont founder H. C. Fownes.
Arthur Jack Snyder was greenkeeper at Oakmont in the early 1950s before beginning his career as a golf architect. The original plan by measures 29 x 25 in. and was restored for these editions. Great gift idea.
    Limited Edition
Each Print is Numbered - Golframes prints that are limited are certified to a set production quantity. If the edition is numbered it will be shipped in sequence. The print number will be determined by the sequence of your order and previously shipped orders. You may inquire on the availability of specific print numbers by contacting us.
Renewable Wood Frame - Golframes uses renewable wood composite frames. These frames are durable and manufactured from recycled wood fiber. The surface and sides of frame sections feature a Canadian Walnut finish.
Clear Styrene "Glass" - Styrene "glass" is a remarkably strong, flexible, and lightweight product that takes the place of traditional glass. We use styrene instead of glass so our products may be shipped without breaking. While clear styrene is produced through manufacturing, styrene occurs in the environment and is a natural component of many common foods, such as coffee, strawberries and cinnamon. Should you prefer glass in our framed products, the styrene is easily removed and may be recycled with other plastics.
