Rare Roberto Clemente "Buc Starts Here" Signed Print by Bill Purdom 1960 WS 420/600
The offered lot of "Buc Starts Here” Bill Purdom signed lithographs is based on an original painting that depicts legendary Pirates right fielder Roberto Clemente batting in Game 1 of the 1960 World Series between the Yankees and the Pirates on October 5, 1960. The print captures Clemente, who is about to line a pitch from Yankees pitcher Art Ditmar into center field for an RBI single. Ditmar was relieved after Roberto’s drive, and the Bucs went on to take the first game by a score of 6-4. The offered print was limited to 600 copies and feature numbering in the bottom left corner and the artists’ signature in the bottom right corner.
The frame is Gold and the print is behind glass, it measures approx. 34.5" wide and 25" tall. Please don't mind the glare in the first picture.
This is a must have for any baseball fan, Clemente was truly one of the good guys of baseball and this print showcases his baseball talent which was dwarfed by his off field generosity.
