Victorian Quaker Style United Hatters Union Label Blue Bonnet Carriage Hat
This antique Victorian era Quaker style United Hatters Union Label blue bonnet carriage hat dates from the late 19th century. The hat is made of a bluish purple fine challis wool silk blend fabric front trim with box pleated details and a faded dark blue purplish velvet fabric. This Quaker style womens winter bonnet hat has a slouched velvet fabric back, with a pleated ruffle trimmed front brim, purple silk ribbon ties for securing underneath the chin, is lined with brown paper and "The United Hatters of North America Union Made" paper label sewn inside. The hat measures 18 inches around the front face brim and is 9 inches deep inside the crown. It is in good as-is condition with some fade discoloration and the front trim has several small moth holes on one side (see close-up). This is a truly a wonderful early piece of union made labeled wearable millinery art!
