1953 in Washington was an exciting year for Mickey Vernon with a .337 average and leading the league with (43) doubles. The Senators played at Griffith Park, the biggest "small" stadium that may not have had many seats, but sure had a lot of room for pitchers to operate in, with dimensions of more than 400 feet in both left and center field. That stadium (and year) are the setting of this "Grand Old Griffith" Andy Jurinko lithograph lot of (101). The 36 x 15-3/4" print shows a panoramic view of the stadium and features two "National Bohemian" advertisements in the outfield. The DC summer is appropriately hot and humid, but the bleacher overhang does provide some shad for onlookers.
